Light and place.
My work deals with the intersection of the intimate record and space, with light and time as components of memory. This body of work deals with intimate spaces— rooms, closets, bathrooms— as keepers of record, transformed into camera obscured. The rooms, then, functioning as camera and dark rooms themselves, become places where both the content outside of the window and that which is inside are recorded; the former human-scale as a projection onto roll paper, creating a negative, and the latter as shadows, photograms— a negative record of that which occupies the space. The work is the developed inside of the space, creating an intimate and interactive setting for the creating of a photographic record of the time spent.
