Born (1989) and live in Rome. In his research, Andrea Polichetti investigates the most intimate side of our being and its relationship with society and information. Original pictorial elements and reinterpreted iconography are combined with different materials, in the form of installations, sculptures, neons and drawings. A bittersweet story narrated trough ironic titles that invites viewers to ponder ambiguous reflection and personal interpretation.
For the artroom's sculpture park I will present a large new artwork created using wire and a powder coated shaped iron sculpture. My most recent research concerns the reflection on inner sexuality; specifically, the investigation began by studying sexual iconography in Pompei ( currently exhibited at the Gabinetto Segreto in Naples's Archeological Museum). The artwork will be the final product/ output of a figurative art research based on a series of drawings and works on paper.
