Born in 1987 in Paris, of an artist mother, I draw since my early childwood and always hold a ball pen in my hand.
I entered the graphic arts school Emile Cohl in Lyon in 2006, where I learned several technics, medium and arts like comics strip, animation, illustration, sculpture... I particulary liked live model classes where I discovered the acrylic painting.
Been always passionated about representation of people and faces, I began to create a serie of big portraits with brushstrokes looking like charcoal sketches, on square formats and exhibit it in galleries and contemporary art fairs. In parallel I started a serie of characters, more in a comic strip style, but always in a realistic way. Step by step I began to mix technics, add pen and marker and mix realism, graphism and abstraction.
I like to get inspired by landscapes where I have already been, where elements are forming a complexe matter like a network. On my paintings, I am more focused on the general atmosphere that emerges from a landscape than the faithful representation of each element. The goal is to get carried away. Sometimes, a zone can be emphasized to let the eye focus on it before going again and following the painting’s movement.
I have always liked to draw on canvas, using paintbrush like a pencil. In this serie I added the marker as a new item. I use it spontaneously, when I feel the need, without fear of breaking the starting logic. Suddenly the image shifts from a painting with large brushstrokes to the pronounced work of graphism. Everything is made freely, wherever the wind takes me, which gives a light work with harmony and suggestion.
