Art for me is about capturing a moment in time and recreating memories; looking beyond the painting to experience the uncertainty, the emotion and what happens next. Through recent commissions, I have allowed people to see their family in a different way through altering memory while still retaining it.
I am continuously progressing and achieving more and more with my art. I have recently attempted portraits, with a looser and more experimental style. I use oils on canvas; I love the way the paints blend into each other and I am working on developing my brush strokes.
Art is a way of life, a form of personal expression and a passion that once awakened, never ceases to exist.
My new collection looks at quiet contemplation by looking inward. Is what we see really there? Can you ever really know what someone is experiencing?
I am showing the outward persona but looks can be deceiving. Even when people feel like they are disappearing, they are desperate to be seen.
Each piece is unique and personal both to the viewer and the subject.
